1. e-Assessment Innovation  Award 2011

  • Awarding Body: e-Assessment Association, Scotland
  • When: 25-26th Aug 2011
  • The Award: According to the e-Assessment Association, this overarching category combined elements of formative, summative, mobile, facilitating assessment and e-portfolio in e-Assessment. The Scottish e-Assessment Award for Innovation highlighted an example of best practice in e-Assessment, which clearly demonstrated the full potential of the technology and its practical application. 2. Formative e-Assessment Award (Highly Commended) 2011


  • Awarding Body: e-Assessment Association, Scotland
  • When: 25-26th Aug 2011
  • The Award: According to the e-Assessment Association, this category involved the process of evaluating learner progress which is used to modify learning and teaching. The winner clearly demonstrated how technology has been used for the practice of formative e-Assessment.

3. eLearning Awards 2009 (Shortlisted for “Excellence in the Production of e-Learning Content)

  • Awarding Body: eLearning Age, BizMedia Ltd, UK
  • When: 29 Sep 2009
  • Award Submission: Harnessing Social Web 2.0 Tools for Continuous e-Assessment of Language Learners
  • The Award: “This award recognised the excellent content that enabled learning for those working in the not-for-profit sector. Excellence was judged on: the contribution made to individual learning and performance; the views of learners and other key stakeholders; the impact on organisational performance”
  • According to the the judges’ feedback, they were impressed with the eLearning agenda in general and how it had a positive impact on students.  The judges noted that CASAW (Centre for the Advanced Study of the Arab World) was the only shortlisted institution to use the widest variety and selection of tools and technologies to deliver eLearning.
